FocusPets Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
FocusPets is a focus timer for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is built so that your data stays yours: there is no account, no advertising and no tracking. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and the small amount of purchase information that leaves your device.
What we collect
Your companions, focus sessions and intentions never reach the developer. They stay on your devices and in your own iCloud (see below).
The only data that leaves the app for a service used by the developer is purchase information, handled by RevenueCat (see "Purchases"). It is tied to a random, anonymous ID – not to your name, email address, Apple Account or any other app or website. FocusPets contains no advertising software, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and never sells or shares your data for advertising.
What the app stores on your devices
To work, FocusPets keeps the following on your device:
- Your companions (pets) – their names, looks and weekly goals.
- Your focus sessions – when they started, how long they lasted and, if you enter one, the intention you wrote for the session.
- Your achievements and app settings.
- Simple counts of how often you've seen Premium screens, kept on your device only.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, FocusPets syncs this data between your iPhone, iPad and Mac through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), in your own private iCloud database. The developer has no access to it. iCloud is operated by Apple and covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn off iCloud for FocusPets in your device's Settings at any time.
Purchases
FocusPets Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; the developer never sees your name, payment details or Apple Account.
To process purchases, restore them on your other devices and know whether Premium is active, FocusPets uses RevenueCat, a subscription service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. When the app starts, RevenueCat creates a random, anonymous ID for your installation. Linked to that ID, RevenueCat receives:
- Purchase information – which product you bought, its price and currency, purchase, renewal, expiration, cancellation and refund dates, and the App Store transaction identifiers Apple provides.
- Device and app information – device model, operating system and version, app version, language and region, and App Store country.
- Your IP address, as with any internet connection, which may be used to estimate your country.
- Where in the app a purchase started – for example the onboarding or Settings screen – so the developer can tell which parts of the app lead to Premium.
The developer uses this information only to provide Premium, to restore purchases, and to understand purchase numbers in aggregate (for example how many people subscribe or cancel). It is not used for advertising and not combined with data from other sources. RevenueCat processes it on the developer's behalf and is covered by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. RevenueCat is based in the United States, so this information may be processed there, under safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Purchase information is kept as long as it is needed for Premium to work and for the developer's legal and accounting obligations. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, reminders (such as for your weekly goal) are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent through any server of ours.
This website
This section is about the FocusPets website only – not the app. The website uses Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages and buttons (such as the App Store button) are used, so we can improve the site.
Analytics cookies are only set if you choose "Accept" in the cookie notice. Until then, and if you choose "No thanks", Google Analytics receives only cookieless, anonymous signals without identifiers. Advertising features are always turned off. Google may process this data in the United States; see Google's Privacy Policy. To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice appears again.
Deleting your data
You can delete companions and sessions inside the app. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device. To remove the synced copy, delete FocusPets' data in your device's iCloud storage settings (Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage).
To have your purchase information deleted from RevenueCat, email us (see "Contact"). Because it isn't linked to your name, we may ask for a detail that identifies the purchase, such as the order ID from your Apple receipt.
Your rights
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a place with similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive it in a portable format. Purchase information is processed to provide the Premium you bought (performance of a contract) and, for aggregate purchase statistics, on the basis of the developer's legitimate interest in improving the app. Website analytics cookies are used only with your consent. To use any of these rights, email us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
FocusPets is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has made a purchase and want its purchase information deleted, contact us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
